AniRevo Plays Chrono Trigger

Twitch played Pokemon, so AniRevo is going to play Chrono Trigger. Let’s see how far we can get in the game throughout the AniRevo2014 weekend August 22-24, 2014! Each person will get 10 mins to play the game before they need to switch off to the next person. We will be recording our progress then posting the journey up to Twitch TV after the convention is over. This will be going all weekend long so be sure to do your part in saving the timeline from Lavos’ wrath!

Magic the Gathering the Draft

Ignite your planeswalker spark as you battle your fellow peers with your arsenal of spells. Each player will receive three packs from a combination of Theros, Born of the Gods, Journey into Nyx, or the newly released core set M15 play sets.  Players will draft with everyone else to assemble their deck of spells and then face off to determine who reigns supreme. $10.00 Entry Presented by Magic Stronghold

Weiss Schwarz Learn to Play and Tournament

A tutorial on how to play the Japanese Anime card game now released in English, Weiss Schwarz. In the first half, we will be teaching the game to potential interested people, then in the second half we will hold a mini-tournament, prizes provided by us. We will also allow people to play casually on the side and will encourage those people to teach potential players as well. FREE Entry

Streetfighter IV Tournament (11AM – 4PM)

Hear the cheers of the crowd as you step onto the tournament field and face your foe. Return to the old days of Street Fighter in Street Fighter IV as you take on legendary Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and otherAMazing fighters. Do you have what it takes? Then show it! Join the Play for Keeps team and earn your title as top fighter!

Yu-Gi-Oh TGC Tournament (1:00pm – 4PM)

Welcome to the Yugioh Tournament where every move you make leads you closer to victory…or defeat. Reduce his life points to zero, and claim victory! Tournament will be in a ladder format where duelists will be participating with their own decks along with three booster packs provided upon entry into the tournament that they can use to optimize their decks. Winning duelists ascend the ladder after winning best two-out-of-three games. Good luck duelists, and may the heart of the cards guide you! Presented by CORE Games

Friday Night Magic! (4PM – 10PM)

You are challenged by your fellow planeswalker in the traditional setting of Friday Night Magic. Unleash your own deck as you take the battle head on to prove your dominance. Players will compete with their own decks in this sanctioned Friday Night Magic tournament hosted by Magic Stronghold.

So You want to Be a Pokemon Master? (5PM – 6:00pm)

Think you have the wit and knowledge to be the very best? Competitors trial in a series of gameshow-type trivia, the winner receives a special prize.

AniRevo’s Pokemon League Challenge (6PM – 8:00pm)

Bring your 3Ds and your best team of Pokemon from X & Y because you are about to face AniRevo’s best gym leaders in a epic battle to collect your very own set of badges.

Werewolf: Anime Edition (6PM – 9:00pm)

An interactive game of deduction for two teams: Villagers and Werewolves. The Villagers don’t know who the Werewolves are, and the Werewolves are trying to remain undiscovered while they slowly pick the Villagers one at a time.  You will get the opportunity to play as iconic anime and game characters such as: Ash (Pokemon), Suichi (Gravitiation), Alucard (Hellsing), San (Princess Mononoke), and many many more!!

BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Tournament (10AM – 12:00pm)

A fighting game tournament where the player who beats all challengers is the victor! Chrono Phantasma continues where BlazBlue: Continuum Shift left off! New characters, a new fighting system and more greet fans new and old in this sequel to the hit series!

Cardfight! Vanguard Tournament (10:30am –  2:30pm)

STAND! VANGUARD! Choose your vanguard. Boost, and strike at the enemy vanguard. Guard against his counterattack and whittle away at this defenses. In the end, there can only be one Vanguard Champion.
Players will be participating with their own decks along with a booster pack that is provided upon entry into the tournament which they can use to optimize their competing decks. Tournament will be a ladder format and players move up after winning best two-of-of-three games. Presented by CORE Games

Pokemon TGC Tournament (2:30PM – 6:30pm)

Assemble your deck and compete head-to-head for the title of Pokemon Master against other trainers. Attach energy, swap out your pokemon, attack! Tournament will be in a ladder format where winners of best two-out-of-three matches will proceed onwards. Good luck trainer! Presented by CORE Games

Super Smash Brothers – Project M Tournament (12:00pm – 12AM)

The Super Smash Brothers community in Vancouver has boomed over the past year so we have teamed up with Play For Keeps to bring you a tournament for all skill levels. We will be hosting a double elimination doubles tournament from 12pm – 4pm and a double elimination singles tournament from 4pm – 12am. We will also be holding free-play friendly matches all throughout the weekend so bring your own Gamecube Controller to come on down and play!

Game Companion Screening and Q&A (12:30pm – 1:30pm)

This is a local film made on Vancouver island with lots of local talent. trailer can be viewed here: Thirty­ something Bob lives downstairs in his mom’s house, works in fast food and has one friend. His greatest accomplishment is mastering a fighter ­style videogame, and permitting him a game companion, Kimiko, who turns out to be real. Kimiko is impressed with Bob as a “great warrior”, but when she starts to discover he is not very important in his own world, her enthusiasm fades. Afterwards join us for a Q&A session with some of the cast.

Magic Stronghold will be holding a special event at AniRevo this year. Do you love the excitement of limited Magic (draft/sealed formats) but don’t have the time? Want a taste of Magic: The Gathering just to see what it’s all about? Grab five of each basic land, add it to a booster pack, shuffle up and start slinging spells! $5.00 entry

Dance Dance Revolution Tournament (11:30am – 4:00pm)

Think you are the best dancing fiend at AniRevo? Come strut your stuff with a Dance Dance Revolution Challenge. The player with the highest score from three songs will win an AniRevo trophy! The winner will be announced at 4pm on Sunday after everyone has had a chance to dance off.
