This contest is defintely one of the highlights of the team’s year. It’s always such a joy to see how each artist interpreted Senmei in their own style. Your creativity and time mean a lot to us and we’re grateful to everyone who took part.

Title: Greetings from Vancouver

I wanted to create an illustration that shows the beauty of Vancouver through Senmei. I included little details like local wildlife and iconic spots like Stanley Park and Gastown. I designed it like a postcard so people can share both the charm of Senmei and the city. I hope the piece brings a sense of warmth and comfort to those who see it.

Title: Riding Into Summer

In this artwork I was inspired by how freeing summer allows us to be, and the vibrant colours this season has to offer. I aimed to create a bright atmosphere in both Senmei’s cute expression and her environment, reminiscent of Vancouver’s many parks and its bikers with the city skyline in the background. I also incorporated elements of her original outfit into a casual modern look!

Biking is one of the best things to do in Vancouver, so I drew Senmei doing some sort of bike stunt 😀
