This year’s Charity Auction will be supporting the BC Cancer Foundation, supporting cancer research and care. We are holding it in Jeffrey Nishi’s honour, a beloved staff member of Anime Revolution who passed away after a devastating battle with a rare form of cancer on November 24th, 2023.

We are accepting item donations to be auctioned off at our Charity Auction held during Anirevo 2024, August 9th-11th.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the BC Cancer Foundation in the Memory of Jeffrey Nishi. There will be no monetary compensation for your item, but please accept our eternal gratitude and feel great knowing you’re supporting a worthwhile cause.

About Jeff

Jeff had been a lifelong anime fan and started volunteering for Anime Revolution (Anirevo/AR) in 2014 after moving to Vancouver from Kelowna, BC. He brought his theater stage tech expertise to the convention, quickly landing him in the Main Events room as the leading stage tech volunteer for AR. He DJ’d many Anirevo Raves under the moniker DJ243, opening for acts such as Teddyloid in 2018. Jeff met some of his best friends and beloved wife volunteering for AR, bonding over their love for everything anime, nerd culture and its vibrant community. He was a special person unmatched in his intelligence, patience and insatiable aptitude to learn and create. His kind and generous actions speak volumes more than words ever could. He was a positive light in this world, taken from us far too soon. We all miss him very much and hope that your donations will one day make a difference in cancer research. 

Donation Guidelines

• All proceeds from the auction will go to the BC Cancer Foundation in the Memory of Jeffrey Nishi. There will be no monetary compensation for your item, but please accept our eternal gratitude and feel great knowing you’re supporting a worthwhile cause.
• All types of items are accepted if they are in good condition and not bootleg. We will be reviewing all submissions prior to confirming approval.
• Collectibles may be sold as one set (e.g. 4 posters for $10 can be considered one set).
• Please bring your items to the designated drop-off point at Anirevo on Friday, August 9th, 2024. Exact location details will be e-mailed closer to Anirevo.
• We will not accept any item drop-offs before Friday, August 9th. You will receive an e-mail with cut-off times and location details if your donation is approved.
• You do NOT need a pass to donate. However, an Anirevo pass is required to watch and/or participate in the Charity Auction.
• If you wish to donate something that is themed to Jeff’s tastes from anime and nerd culture, these include series such as Macross Frontier, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Ah! My Goddess, Monogatari, Sword Art Online, Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Love Live! (Maki and Kanan), Genshin Impact (Ganyu), Halo Series, Hatsune Miku, Kizuna Ai, IronMouse (VShoujo), Pokemon (Azumarill & Flareon), Nana Mizuki, Star Wars.
