2024 Senmei Fanart Contest - Results and Artist Showcase!

The results are finally here!

First of all, we apologise for the delay in announcing the winners this year – it was brought to our attention that there were potential issues with the voting.

After a thorough investigation, we discovered the source and corrected the problems we found. The number of votes has been adjusted from our previous post to accurately represent the correct tally of votes. We have hardened our voting system so issues like these will not happen in the future.

For the inconvenience this delay has caused, we have revised our awards as follows:

1️⃣ First Place – Choice of Premium Pass OR Artist Alley table for 2024 or 2025
2️⃣ Second Place – Artist Alley table 2025
3️⃣ Third Place – Artist Alley table 2025

Title: Summer Vibes

I’m excited to share my latest artwork, “Summer Vibes,” featuring Senmei. In this piece, I aimed to capture the essence of a perfect summer day through Senmei’s cheerful presence. I wanted to evoke a sense of warmth and joy, bringing out the carefree spirit of summer through Senmei’s character. This piece is a celebration of summer’s vibrant and joyful atmosphere, and I hope it brings a smile to everyone’s face as much as it did to mine while creating it.

Here’s a brief message about their submission:

Title: Timeless Race Queen

I decided to tackle the elements of summer and time travel into this piece with our beloved Senmei! ☺️ In terms of the time travelling aspect, I pictured Senmei travelling back to the past taking a pit stop in a 1950’s downtown Vancouver, with her getup and peculiar looking DeLorean that she travelled back in time with that is inspired by the 1980s … along with her favorite treats of course!

Title: Summer Surf Sherbet

I wanted to make a colourful and dynamic illustration featuring Senmei enjoying summer waves. I tried to incorporate some space elements as well because I think ocean/summer and space aesthetics go very well together. In my previous entry I drew a night theme so I decided to do something with Daylight/Sunset themes instead.
