From the legendary and highly celebrated Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Totoro, and Princess Mononoke) comes From Up on Poppy Hill, the uniquely inspired and highly anticipated coming-of-age story from Goro Miyazaki and Hayao Miyazaki.

Vancity Theatre will be playing From Up on Poppy Hill from March 22 to March 31, 2013 in both subtitled and dubbed versions. Full schedule. Vancity Theatre is located at 1181 Seymour Street, Vancouver BC.

Set in Yokohama in 1963, the latest animated feature from Studio Ghibli is a poignant teen love story, graceful, understated but full of feeling. Written by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by his son Goro, the movie transports us to a bustling seaside town, with its misty harbor, sun-drenched gardens, shops and markets, and some of the most mouthwatering Japanese home-cooking set to film.
